This weekend all the students in my program (about 50 of us) went to Tamarindo Beach for the weekend. We left on Friday afternoon and drove through the beautiful, mountainous countryside
and even caught the sunset along the ride.
We arrived after dark to a very nice resort where our rooms were located about a hundred yards from the ocean!
The next day, seven of us went on a horseback ride on the beach!
The ride from the ranch took between one and two hours, and along the way we saw a small town, farms with livestock,
monkeys, and some beautiful scenery.
The horses seemed to enjoy it as much as we did and didn't feel shy about running and racing each other. It was the kind of experience that doesn't happen in the United States, and it was truly unforgettable.
Once we arrived on the beach,
we had an hour to play in the surf,
explore the wildlife,
check out the tide pools,
and venture out onto the wave-beaten rocks
before heading back to the ranch.
That night we went out to a nightclub, and the next morning lounged on the beach before heading back to San Jose. We arrived home to the city around dinner time and had to get back to homework and reality.
